The Craft of Handmade Excellence

Every Knot Tells a Story

From hand-spun yarn to the final knot, every rug is meticulously woven by master artisans, preserving generations of Indian craftsmanship.

The Genesis of a Masterpiece

  1. Stage 01

    The Sacred Sketch

Before the first thread is dyed, a master designer spends months hand-drawing the ‘Naksha’. This mathematical map translates spiritual geometry into a grid where every cell represents a singular knot.

    Stage 02

    Alchemy of Pigments

Our wool and silk are immersed in botanical baths. Saffron, indigo, and pomegranate husks create colours that live and breathe, ageing into a patina that synthetic dyes can never emulate.

  3. Stage 03

    The Thousand Knots

A single rug can contain over a million hand-tied knots. In the Bhadohi tradition, the ‘Asymmetric’ knot allows for a fluidity of design, enabling the weaver to paint with yarn.

Born of the Earth

Hand-Spun Wool

Sourced from the high plateaus, our wool retains its natural lanolin, ensuring a rug that ages with grace and resilience.

03 — The Knotting

The Geometry of Silence

Our ‘Asli Kashi’ technique involves hand-drawing a life-sized map of every rug. This graph, coloured by hand, serves as the weaver’s guide — a meticulous blueprint where every single square represents one knot.

04 — The Artisans

The Rhythm of the
Loom

Generations of weavers in Kashi and Bhadohi have carried this craft within them. It is not taught in books; it is felt in the hands, passed from father to son, mother to daughter, like a family secret whispered in wool.

  • Heritage

Families with over three centuries of documented weaving history.

  • Artistry

Every weaver is a master of their own ‘voice’ within the pattern.

05 — The Land

Bhadohi: The
Heart of the Knot

The air in Bhadohi is thick with the history of the loom. Here, the landscape itself seems woven from the same threads we use. It is a place where the sacred Ganges provides the final blessing to every rug.

“Bhadohi is not just a location; it is the soul of the Indian rug. Without this soil, the wool would not speak the same language.” — Traditional Proverb
